Film Screenplay/Treatment

 (Currently Unknown Title)
--- Update ---
 Title: The Damned

Cut to (Fade in) - Interior - Dark room - can't make out specifically where. Close up of hands tied together with ropes/wires that are unbreakable by force.

Hostage - young male blindfolded, wearing casual clothes and appears to be a normal citizen and with no great significance.

Low angle shot of objects on the floor (spanner/tools so not especially sinister but audience should feel tense/worried.)

Pan/ across objects - still hearing audio track of someone in distress. Light footsteps approach which then stop abruptly - whilst hearing the motions of the door opening and closing - Cuts to bottom half of this character. Black shoes/Black trousers - nothing distinctive (adult male)

See this man's feet more towards table more towards the table, on it are more potentially sinister objects. Laid out to suggest method/precision/used already shows that he is a professional at what he is doing. Same tracking shot reveals a clock (digital?) - Time 12:34

Cut to - Hostage - shot of hands again - Tilt shot revealing a sense of fear (Hostage knows the killer is there) - Hearing some running footsteps from the beginning of the next clip, also the new music track enters making the audience begin to feel tension, suspense.

Then cuts to shot of men 2-3 (Police) who appear to be armed. Appear to be around the ages of 20-25. Wearing tidy, smart clothes. - smart shirt, some wearing a tie, with jacket or, pulled up sleeve - dark or black trousers, smart shoes.

Cut to an low angle scene of footsteps running, they seem desperate.
(varying location, it could be outside or inside a building with similar designs that match the dark room depending on the suitable location)

Cuts back to scene in the room, the Kidnapper puts on some gloves (leather) - close up of his hands wearing them, the there are markings and some worn feeling to the gloves, the Kidnapper has been doing this sort of job for a long time. The hostage struggling in attempt of breaking free.

Then cuts to a more wider shot seeing the Police running from a distance towards the direction of where the camera is facing. They seem to be getting close to their destination.

Kidnapper is wiping a Gun with a cloth, Music increases, creating more tension. He starts walking towards the hostage (footsteps echo).

The Police are approaching a door - sound is in synchronisation with this scene.

Kidnapper is getting closer to the hostage, the gun hanging from his hands- he halts the shot is peering over his shoulders, but also the hostage is in view - then from his perspective looking down on the hostage.

Police gather around a single door resting their backs along the wall - Two on the left and one on the right side of the door, even though they seem to be young ages for their jobs they show good co-ordination and teamwork representing their skills and that they have been trained for these situations

Side shot seeing both the Kidnapper and Hostage, (still unable to see the face of kidnapper) He pulls back his gun with no remorse.

Hostage starts struggling again frantically trying to break free but his final moments are drawing nearer, and all efforts are futile.

Police nod to one another, one of them knocks on the door, the sound of the knock syncs with the next shot.

Mid-shot of the Kidnapper's torso slowly turning towards the door (still hearing heavy but soft knocking) he turns back ignoring whatever was at the door.

Cuts back to outside of the door and the police stop knocking, Police 1 signals an order to proceed through the door.

Cuts to the clock
Time: 5 minutes have passed since

Close up of the gun, Kidnapper's finger is steadily on the trigger ready to pull without remorse at any second, but he takes his time to draw fear into the Hostage before finishing the job.

The Police (2) kick open the door, as it is being kicked it quickly cuts to the trigger of the gun being pulled.

The screen suddenly goes black followed by a gunshot - 3-8 seconds, the duration creates an extended tension and suspense towards the audience before revealing the next scene.

Cuts to the Police who have just entered a room, however the audience think its the same room however it isn't.

They are confused and look at each other, in which at that moment they all realise that they were too late and have also arrived at the wrong location. Police 1 is frustrated and releases his anger on an object. Scene then turns black and white and then fades out.
