Evaluation 2

How does tour media product represent particular social groups?

The first two characters are Rachel and Harvey Dent from Batman: The Dark Knight, and below is the hostage from my film opening and there characters some similarities and relate to each other .

Firstly they are all tied up and bound to a chair in an unknown location, however Harvey and Rachel are both inside a room filled with explosives and the hostage is just inside a dark room filled with junk. The reason I have chosen to compare Rachel and Harvey to my characters is that a common thing they share is fear, as they all don't know where they are and know that something ominous is going to happen to them. Also the representation of them is that they are powerless and are not in control of the situation. However my character appears to be more younger in age than them (around age 18-24) and appears to be less important than Harvey and Rachel in terms of how they are dressed.

I purposely made the Killer wear gloves to make him seem professional in what he is doing and that and that he is less revealing. Also he is similar to another character in a Crime film “Patrick Bateman” from American Psycho, who is a wealthy New York banking executive that has a psychopathic side. Both these characters are evil and show that they can kill without remorse as indicated in Bateman’s expressions and the killer’s movement and posture. They both also share a characteristic of being powerful and overwhelming  to other characters, as Bateman looks down on other people and kills them because he can and they both share the skill of being precise as the killer has his tools and equipment prepared and as for Bateman he has the money and power to possess many weapons and he likes be prepared.
